Historically, blue has the highest average power level. Also, there’s a strong argument that in Standard right now, blue is the strongest color. So, I think someone arguing blue is the strongest has some legs to stand on.

@luminumcan: Trying to bring the colors into balance with each other is not a joke - there’s millions of dollars at stake for Wizards and incalculable enjoyment at stake for players. Maybe if you’re a blue player you don’t care, but other people do.

Blue gets most of the effects that fundamentally warp some core aspect of the game (see Snapcaster, which singlehandedly makes your graveyard a spell reservoir). If this is ever slightly undercosted, or too easily splashed, it goes straight to broken
