I don’t think we’ve seen the last of mummies, but we do need to find a world where they make sense. I’m sure we will do an Egyptian inspired world one day and obviously they would be in that.

In Magic, it mostly seems like zombies are mindless undead, liches are intelligent, spell casting zombies, and mummies are intelligent, warrior zombies. As always there are exceptions ;)
