If you're playing red, you're almost always playing aggro, or just adding Lightning Bolts to something. Meanwhile, blue and white can play aggro, tempo, or control (and in standard they're quite good at all three.)
Red has a control aspect. It’s mostly seen when it’s paired with other colors, but red can sit back and remove threats.
