bossubossupromode asked: So, no four-color creatures, I get that. But since (at least from the looks of it) the largest audience for such a thing is Commander players, why not do three-color creatures with an off-color ability? Would that fall into the same problems?
I didn’t say we’d never do a cycle of legendary creatures. I just said it would be difficult. We do difficult things all the time.
gunofmercy asked: Mark, I just wanted to say I love the blog and the you're weekly podcast, and playing magic. As a follow up to my Chandler question, when will Magic finally have kangaroos?
I’ll get a jump of it. : )
karric asked: Do you think it's unfortunately awkward that Magic is aimed at an age group with limited spending capabilities?
I think you misunderstand who Magic is aimed at.
ataraxicdave asked: You mentioned in your podcast about planeswalkers an initial design where they would be "stupid" doing a certain action each turn in a certain order... I'm really interested in the concept of such a card. How likely is that we will see that design in some artifact, or in a new kind of card? (Contraptions ;)?)
As they are “close to planeswalkers but not quite”, I think the chances are low but not impossible.
morkelin asked: I see that the Renton Community Foundation poster is once again plastered on the side of Renton City Hall. Always good to see the "Wizards" logo as a sponsor. It's nice to use a product from a company that supports the local community.
Wizards (and Hasbro) is big on supporting the local community.
foxxyedarko asked: Referencing a question from a few days ago, if squee were to return as a planeswalker, would he be just as difficult to get rid of?
Let’s call that a “big if”.
fatheringfelix asked: Will we ever see a return to Rabiah (Arabian Nights)? Djinns & Efreets are sweet.
I think we’ll see djinns and efreets again but a return to Rabiah’s a 10 on the Storm Scale, mostly because nowadays we tend to do inspired worlds rather than straight up ports of real mythologies.
“Tales from the Pit” #548
intheknowyouknow asked: Where should I go to submit card designs? (I know this has probably been asked before, but I have no idea)
The only time we’ve set something up for submitting directly to us gas been the various versions of “You Make the Card” and the second Great Designer Search.
dawn-of-the-first-day asked: Tribal tournament: Which creature type would you use and why? Also, which creatures win the tournament?
I would probably use Ooze. Just remember I’m a die-hard Johnny.
shellshade asked: When asked in your City Mail article, you gave the mechanics that you would reuse for each guild, why did you choose frenzy over devour for Gruul? As much as frenzy feels Gruul, devour just seems so much more flavorful.
Both could work. I just personally felt frenzy would work with their play style better.
adamrinsky asked: Was Smart Ass and its cycle all top-down design?
The designs were made to match the names so it was top-down in that regard.
arkvinin asked: Do you think that MMA failed as a product when more than half of the cards are utilized by Commander players?
Lots of people playing the cards is seldom a sign of failure.
tijmenndg asked: Are you coming to Amsterdam this summer? If so, i just might stop by to thank you in person (if that's ok).
I am coming to Amsterdam. That and San Diego Comic-con are my two Magic trips this year.
gunofmercy asked: Since, Theros was code named "friends", what are the odds of Chandler being reprinted?
About the same as a card named “Joey” being in the set. : )
