sweat-and-whiskey-breath asked: At any point in design, was Tree of Redemption a Treefolk? If so, why was it not printed as such?

uticayouthevents asked: Also, unlike recent sets, Innistrad doesn't seem to be as story-centric (obviously since the top-down horror design was so important). That leaves me wondering what happens next? Are the following sets in the block just adding more sand to the fun fantasy horror sandbox, or is there a direction? With Scars, for instance, you knew going in that part 2 would be a war, and part 3 the outcome...

uticayouthevents asked: Was there consideration given to the idea of returning to Ulgrotha, from Homelands, instead of creating a new plane with Innistrad? The settings are similar, and I think it would have been a great way to tie in earlier Magic history with the present. Plus, Sengir Vampire just came back in M12 and the Sengir family could have been represented again.

mandramas asked: Was the Weatherlight Saga a bottom-up, or a top-down design?

breyfunk asked: Do you sign cards that people send to you and return them, assuming that people send self addressed, postage prepaid envelopes? If so, where do I mail the card I need signed to?

dukkhasatva asked: Didn't your say in your State of Design article that Scars and Innistrad show the new phase of block design? Isn't that top-down? They don't have a mechanic but a flavor at the core. Scars is less top-down, but at it's core its more "war for mirrodin block" than "artifact block", which is reflected in the choice of mechanics. Doesn't this mean all the...

bobloblawlobslawbombs asked: Ever tried letting the artist design the cards, the creative team develop the set, the designers do the art and the developers do the creative aspects? If not, why not and what would the set be called?
bobloblawlobslawbombs asked: What's your favorite movie?
bobloblawlobslawbombs asked: For Dark Ascension and "Roll", will there be as many top-down Trope cards, or are you going to stick more to what works from the bottom-up?
boogie2988 asked: Speaking of top down design, what is your all time favorite card that you designed top-down, and whats your favorite that you did not design.
riefgar asked: What is your favorite Lorwyn tribe?

projectgert asked: Any chance of reprinting the power 9(Timewalk, Timetwister, Ancestral Recall, Black Lotus and the 5 original moxes)? The 'From the Vault' seems like a pretty good platform to show off these old cards.

cryptrat asked: Do you believe that the swinging pendulum (by your analogy) is the main reason people are upset with new releases?

eternalcheechako asked: I am trying to put together some booster drafts between my friends, and they are not interested until they hear about the Themes of Innistrad. Then they are very interested. How does excitement about this set compare in general to the other recent blocks?

ohthezombies asked: Are there hard guidelines for what abilities are primary/secondary/tertiary in a color?

uticayouthevents asked: Are there future-shifted ideas from Future Sight that we definitely won't see come back? I was really hoping for Fortifications and Riggers building contraptions when Magic returned to Mirrodin, but now I doubt we'll see them (at least for many years). Was there a particular reason Fortify was not used in Scars block? It seems like it would have been a great tool for the Mirrans side...

eronarn asked: Any chance of the Egg creature type coming back if another one gets printed? Five would be enough to make an Egg tribal deck without using changelings - that's better than Aurochs can do.

rackam asked: In the modern sets in which Richard Garfield has designed cards, do his cards lean towards straightforward or complicated designs? As an outsider, the cards you tend to show of his look more complicated to me, but of course I may not have the whole picture..

This is the second part of my card by card stories of Innistrad. Find out which card was top-down designed by Richard Garfield to be a chainsaw.

ruhruhrandy asked: Prerelease was one of the best days of my life, and I have you (and others) to thank for that. So thank you. There wasn't anything I disliked about this set. And some cards made me feel sheer terror when they hit the board, so flavor is spot on. Thanks again!

bluelotus0 asked: You've said that sets are designed with synergy with the previous set in mind. So, was Curse of the Pierced Heart intentionally designed not to work with bloodthirst or did no one really think of that?

jeffderek asked: When my opponent plays a double faced card, am I allowed to see both sides of it, or only the side that is in play? In other words, do I have to memorize the second face of all DFCs or is the face down side public information?
